Mike’s interest in fitness began at an early age with weight training. Mike has since transitioned his love of weight training into a nearly 20+ year personal training career and most recently to the ownership of Garden State Strength and Fitness. Mike has been certified by numerous nationally recognized organizations such as the ISSA, YMCA, and USA Weightlifting. Mike continues to enjoy dedicating himself to working with clients of all ages and fitness levels to achieve their fitness goals.
Mike resides in Cranford with his wife and 3 children.


Jim Basile is an independent Strength and Performance Coach who offers his services to the clientele of Garden State Strength and Fitness. He is a certified Titleist Performance Institute Fitness Professional.
Jim’s enthusiasm for fitness began at an early age. While playing football, baseball & wrestling in high school he learned the importance of a prudent strength and conditioning program. Jim has spent the last 20+ years dedicated to coaching his clients to achieve their fitness needs and goals. By teaching his clients how to properly move the body, his programs are for anyone looking to function better. His current clientele includes athletes, kids, adults, and seniors.
Jim lives with his wife Jessica and his beautiful daughter Bella.
Kate has been involved with the Pilates Method for over twenty years. As a student, she quickly fell in love with the positive effects that Pilates had to offer. In 2003, she began teaching Mat Pilates while attending FIT in NYC, and received her Mat Certification through Power Pilates, NYC. She later on received her Comprehensive Certification through the Physical Mind Institute as well as a Pre and Post Natal Certification through Bella Bellies. Throughout the years Kate also became certified in Yoga, earning her RYT-200 certification from Yoga Manjari. She teaches Vinyasa as well as Restorative Yoga and Kids Yoga, and has been teaching both Pilates and Yoga in various studios around the area. Kate is always looking for a challenge and yearns for more knowledge. She is a true believer in the saying that the best teacher is also a student and that “in learning you will teach and in teaching you will learn”.


Sarah is an independent yoga teacher offering her services to the clientele of Garden State Strength and Fitness. Sarah has been teaching Yoga for the past 15+ years. Her classes focus on alignment and breathwork and are very challenging yet accessible to everyone. With a focus on Biomechanics, Sarah will lead you through a class that will help you become stronger and more flexible in the most efficient way possible. You will leave her classes feeling empowered and blissful. Sarah is skillful in her approach to teaching the poses and will tailor the practice to fit the needs of the students in front of her. She is experienced in working with people with chronic pain and injuries as well as athletes of all kinds.
